There are two theories about the origin of the name of Nebbiolo wine: the first says that the name comes from the period, between September and October, during which the grape harvest takes place, at which time in the Langhe the first fogs begin to appear. The second theory attributes the origin of the name to the frost that covers the grapes, just as a fog bank would.
